Permanent makeup is possible through a procedure called micro pigmentation in which an organic pigment is embedded beneath the skin to add permanent color. The procedure involves the use of a hand held device that punctures the skin hundreds of times per minute with a very thin needle and pushes the pigment into the desired location. The permanent makeup procedure is virtually pain free. When it is undertaken, anesthetic creams are applied on the area to be treated to minimize the pain. After the treatment, there might be some inflammation and redness, which goes away on its own in approximately a week’s time. For maintaining the look, some touch ups might be needed every year and certain guidelines will be issued that have to be followed to prevent the color from fading and to make the effects of treatment long lasting.

In addition to defining the eyes, micro pigmentation is used to enhance eyebrows and lips and can permanently create the look of blush and eye shadow.

Eye brows
Eyebrows “frame” the eyes and are a reference point that determines how facial features are perceived. The appropriate eyebrow shape and size can appear to lift a person’s eyes creating a more youthful appearance. Individuals with sparse or lightly colored eyebrows may choose to have their brows professionally shaped and shaded. Your own eyebrow hair will remain but will be enhanced by the permanent makeup. Eyebrow hair loss can result from years of tweezing or waxing, medical conditions (e.g. scars or Alopecia), or medications (e.g. Chemotherapy). Permanent eyebrows eliminate the daily use of pencils or powders to fill in, reshape or re-color brows. Eyebrow shape, thickness, color, density, height, balance, and symmetry can be corrected once and for all with eyebrow tattooing to improve the attractiveness of a person’s face.

Permanent eyeliner helps women enhance the appearance of their eyes; it improves the appearance of missing, thin or light colored lashes. It provides safety and convenience to people with vision problems or unsteady hands. Eye doctors (Ophthalmologists and Optometrists) also recommend permanent eyeliner to patients who wear contact lenses, have watery eyes, or are allergic to regular makeup. Permanent eyeliner can be applied as subtlety or as dramatically as you like. The choice of color means that you can enhance your natural eye color resulting in eyes that sparkle and stand out enhancing not only the color but the shape and provides eyes with definition and depth.

As we age, Lips can appear to loose shape as well as pigment. Permanent lip liner and color can improve the appearance of lips for women. It helps lips appear more defined without surgery or fillers and restores color to lips that are too pale. Permanent lip liner can reshape your lips, creating a symmetrical appearance.

Areola Pigmentation
Permanent makeup can be used to fashion a more natural look after breast reconstruction surgery by creating the illusion of a lifelike areola and nipple. Color and circle definition in fading or irregular areolas can also be corrected to create a more natural looking breast.

Scar Camouflage
Scars, burns and skin imperfections from surgeries or injuries can be easily camouflaged using these specialized permanent cosmetic micro pigmentation procedures. Micro pigmentation can also be used to break up scar tissue and color it for a better appearance. Permanent cosmetics can disguise scars and discoloration’s from cleft palate, birthmarks and non-pigmented age spots.
